It has to be 12 years out. 4 is too close to an election cycle. They can't look like they are going after him after all.

He'll never be put on trial for this, and not for the usual reasons. The Logan Act has rarely been prosecuted, and none of the cases that were prosecuted resulted in convictions. It likely violates the First Amendment. It's entirely possible the Supreme Court would make a unanimous decision on this one.

This isn't the first time the Logan Act has been brought up in regards to Trump, and I wish the media would stop. Of all the Not Happening of Trump crimes, this is the most Not Happening.

It likely violates the First Amendment.

I know this will be one of the defenses for it, but this really is not a first amendment issue, it's a national security issue.
