The good people left Facebook a long time ago. I would even argue before the place was taken over by boomers.
I think ultimately, it was the share functionality that ruined Facebook, because it was once the place where you keep up with your friends, but then the genuineness of it is gone after you realize they only see their friends as a captive audience to get likes and get a boost for their Farmvilles.
It's a dehumanizing place, which is why it became a wasteland.
I distinctly remember back in 2010 right before I deleted my Facebook, everytime I logged in I would get depressed and sad.
Facebook was pretty nifty when it first started and wasn't evil. It was fun to connect with people from high school I'd never see again otherwise. I've restarted some great relationships that way. It's really unfortunate what trash it turned into.
Almost everyone I know still has Facebook, but no one actually posts on it. Personally I only really use messenger (which they just killed, coincidentally).
What's this about messenger? I still have it because of that one friend who won't move.
They are getting rid of the android app at least, presumably to force people back to facebook as they slowly starve. Website still works
After that whole palaver of them breaking it on the mobile site on purpose to get us to install Messenger in the first place?!
FML.
