Oof, Better watch out or you're gonna catch some .FLAC for saying egregious things like that! (Can always convert them to fit individual devices)
I know people enjoy being snooty about audio quality and I used to as well. But at some point I just stopped caring and openly admitted that I couldn't hear a difference. I can wholeheartedly recommend!
Absolutely valid! I was mostly joking. Not everyone has the drive space for lossless either.
95% of the time i listen wirelessly which is limited to 320kbs anyway so in fact for most of my listens it might aswell be mp3. Using the right headphones with cable I definitely can hear the difference but convenience wins against many things.
As collector, there is something nice on owning the most complete version of an item, even if in practical listening its never that i can rest assured that as audio technology improves i can convert the original material myself with as little lost possible. That is ultimately why i recommend collecting lossless just as I equally recommend going with the flow to enjoy the music no matter the numbers.
