Why is owning a beaver not a blessing?

Beavers are majestic animals that hold a sacred place in the hearts of all Canadians.
Also in French beaver is 'castor', which is where the term castration comes from. Back in the day, the act of castration was performed using beaver teeth, as they were sharp and widely available. So a castrato singer technically means 'one who's voice is created by a beaver'
None of that is true (except for castor meaning beaver) but thanks for reading.
