I'm knew on lemmy.world, no idea whats happening. Not knocking it, but can someone please explain if it is always slow?

it is slow because they have less server capacity then users want, you could switch to a smaller instance and then everything should be good to go

at least now there is no real system for migrating to you have to make a new account and subscribe to everything again
