Like Valve's Proton compatibility layer for Steam Deck, Apple has made the Game Porting Toolkit to let Windows games run on macOS - so we tested it.

Unfortunately GPT does come with some major caveats. The majority of DX12 titles that I tested using Whisky didn't boot, or couldn't make it past the introductory video files, and game performance is often shaky, clocking in at maybe half the speed of comparable Windows systems.

Doesn't really sound like it.

@0xtero Given how rapidly gaming on Linux has advanced since the introduction of Proton, it could be a lot closer than you think

Just tested it my M1 laptop. Works fine for my library so far. If I had more free time I would post a list of tested games. I don’t tend to buy the latest games on PC.
