Usually they do put something in the letterbox a couple of months in advance.

Nope, as far as I'm aware, nothing's been put in our letterbox about this ever

Oh look it might have blown away, letterbox got missed or you might not have got one at all but they do usually notify you.

Is there any cars not parked on the road that are normally there? That might be an indication that there was notification.

I don't believe so. I haven't checked this morning, but I do know last night (10 pmish) all the usual cars were parked outside. But it's hard to tell because a lot of people go to work early, so half the street would've already left by the time the road workers got here and started ripping things up
