Think this will change anything?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 46 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Whether it changes anything or not, the public deserves to know.

After immunity, these are official acts. Good luck.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 19 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Most of these charges predate his presidency.

[–] 555_1@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago (2 children)

The Supreme Court will rule that by becoming a us president, a person gains absolution for all their crimes, and cannot be charged with any crimes while in office.

So, taking over the government by force and killing people who disagree with you is actually not a crime at the moment. Hurry up Joe!!!

*Biden excepted.

[–] Omega_Man@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This is just Doom posting. The opinion was terrible and a major threat to democracy, but Robert specifically calls out a candidate running for presidency as an example of a "private act."

Yeah I think the ruling was garbage too but I'm getting tired of the overly dramatic hot takes on this everywhere. Nuance is dead.

They could have multi-angle IMAX video of Trump cornholing a dozen toddlers and the MAGats would still think he was the second coming of Christ.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 5 points 4 months ago

It wouldn't matter at all because "Bill Clinton did it too!!"

[–] INeedMana@lemmy.world 22 points 5 months ago

To me it looks like the judge wants something to be seen. Wealthy-and-connected privilege? Maybe even these documents show how deep into the known names this hole runs? Without the ambiguity of "the only documented thing is a dinner"

But I'm not an expert on the issue and judges in general, so maybe I'm misinterpreting something

I mean it really has been no secret at all that trump was close friends with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and at the very least was aware of what was going on for some time. More than likely he participated in some of the nefarious and weird ass crap going on at their properties and while that is certainly not proven, there sure is a lot of damning evidence (also his response when asked if he would release the Epstein files if elected a few weeks ago was hilarious lol). And people just simply don't care. Like not even a little. At this point if it came out that trump was actually the one behind it all and he just had Epstein be the fall guy or something I still don't think it would change anything at all.

people just simply don’t care. Like not even a little.

If they had a video of him raping a 13 year old it wouldn't matter to MAGAs.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 5 points 4 months ago

If that Russian Trump piss tape does exist, the other people involved are almost certainly underage.

[–] PythagreousTitties@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago

"the people in power hate him for raping those kids, that's why I like him!".

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 16 points 5 months ago

Nothing wrong with a little sunshine.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Are you kidding? That's not the name of the game, it has always been RATINGS.
