Recently the video game company Bungie made a tweet trying to represent Hispanics and Latinos for Hispanic Heritage month (another problem by itself since both communities are not the same but that’s beside the point) and they used “Latin/e/a/o/x”. Bungie is not the first to do this, serveral corporations use “Latinx” or some variation thereof in a poor attempt to represent Latino communities (for obvious cash grabs). Why is that? The majority of the Latino public dislike the term as it is completely foreign to the language. Why do companies insist on using it when it’s so obviously offensive?
