I mostly live in the state of exhaustion, though sometimes I get to visit the land of dreams.
Eventually, I expect to move permanently into the undiscovered country...
...I'm just not sure when.
Relaxed section for discussion and debate that doesn't fit anywhere else. Whether it's advice, how your week is going, a link that's at the back of your mind, or something like that, it can likely go here.

Quebec, Canada. The land of poutine.
Things are okay but I feel like there's still a bunch of issues here politically and culturally.
C'est amusant voir d'autres Quebecois ici :)
C'est certainement intéressant, je me demande pourquoi autant de Québecois.e.s arrivent ici
Im from Romania in the Moldova area a good drive away from the city Iasi
Both Southwest Colorado and Western North Carolina. Totally different mountains in each but both are still beautiful in their own way.
India :)
UK. Rural East Anglia in fact. If you have seen the tv show Detectorists you will have seen several locations that I travel past regularly.
Originally? Deepest, nazi infested east of germany... now happy in Hessen as well ;)
Portugal, Lisbon.
Southwest Florida. It's hot, it's humid, it's not the worst place I've lived, but it's close.
North of England. I like it, I used to live in a city but recently moved out to a town which has much easier access to the countryside, and I prefer that a lot more. One thing I like about the new place is the diversity of food - There's some great Indian, Turkish, and Polish restaurants in the area, even a Brazilian steakhouse.
Far West of Germany. Protecting OP from the Dutch ;)
I am from Ireland. Within Ulster but not part of Northern Ireland. It's enjoyable with the lovely weather that we are having but there is nothing here for the younger generation. Most youngins are moving to either Dublin, London or even Australia.
Northern Saxony-Anhalt in Germany, probably the most boring place in this country with nothing but dry fields and narrow minded people, at least outside of the capital city
I'm in England, Essex. That's east of London. Stuck between two cities in a rural setting.
Originally California, U.S.A., but now (since a few years) live in Southern Germany.
I live in the Piney Woods region of East Texas. It's wetter than what most people imagine when they think of Texas and has beautiful, towering pine trees and the rivers have knobby kneed bald cypress trees. Unfortunately, all that moisture out here comes with a lot of mosquitos, too. We still have Texas heat and humid heat is pretty miserable, sometimes I wish I lived in a desert instead but I would miss all the greenery.
I used to live in Hesse when I was very young, I started kindergarten there. Unfortunately, I barely know any German. I might have to look up those comedians for more listening practice!
The part of British Columbia that is just east enough of Vancouver to stop being a beautiful coastal rainforest and start being treeless, godforsaken farmland. It was a rainforest with a beautiful lake 150 years ago but then the settlers showed up, drained the lake, cut down the trees, and turned it all into farmland so we can have raspberries.
I'd never heard of the Maidenhead Locator System so I thought perhaps that was a typo. I went to uni close to there (which is South England) but lately I live in SE Asia (it's too hot!)
Florida, but hopefully not long, saving up to move to somewhere better. Colorado and Washington are on the list in terms of USA, but Norway/Sweden would be ideal
I'm from New Zealand, and it's getting colder every day.
Pacific Northwest, an hour or so drive West of Seattle.
Alberta Canada. Bit breezy here today, but the sun is shining.
Any thoughts on the recent provincial elections?
There is curse. It goes "May you live in interesting times."
Sigh <- that's about my thoughts on it (as someone also in AB)
Edit: But also more of it was a lot closer than expected really in many ridings. Look closely at Calgary and there were some very very close races (ie, under 1000 votes)
Yeah, it was a pretty tight race from what I could see and hopefully that trajectory continues. Shame that the NDP didn't win.
Perth, Ontario, Canada
Helsinki, Finland.
What I love about the area I live in (and most of Helsinki for that matter) is how close nature is. I live a few hundred meters from the beach, there's two nature preserves within 1km, and generally there's lots of trees and greenery everywhere
Good morning, from the mountains of Montana, USA.Currently working remotely from home, and getting to know my fellow Beehaw buds on my down time, and hoping our fire season isn't as bad as the past couple of years. I've been looking into heading to Canada, as I'm growing increasingly worried at how things are changing here.
Grew up in Colorado in the United States; but have been living in Tokyo the last like 8 years or so.
And it’s… super crowded these days, to be honest. Wouldn’t mind a smaller city at all.
From Puerto Rico.
Espero q otres boricuas se unan aquí ;-;
Boston area! I’m a fan, folks are nice around here and it’s a good blend of city living while still being able to access nature. Folks are mostly liberal, which is great. Originally from the Midwestern US.
I live in Thailand, a bit in the sticks, but not far away from the tourist place Hua-Hin.
Miami, Florida, but I'd like to leave eventually because Florida is rapidly becoming a shithole (as I'm sure many of you have seen).
Malung-Sälen, Sweden.
The tune of our lives, voluntarily or not, is "dunka dunka" - edm/dansband-music that feature loud bass (LOUD) and explicit lyrics, blaring from the speaker-mountains installed in the A-tractors of our youths.
South Denver metro. East coast USA before I moved here.
I'm living in North West Wales, by Eryri/Snowdonia. Moved here recently having previously been living in various major cities for work in England. Work is still there, but due to Covid we've pretty much moved fully remote, meaning I can live next to mountains instead of motorways!
Lots of history here as well as lots of outdoorsy things to do, which is lovely. Though bit of a challenge learning the Welsh language as that is most people's first language here.
If you read the Manga Vinland Saga I'm somewhere on that rock the Thorfinn lands on in the latter half.
From Bosnia but living for the last 5 years in Southern Hesse as well. Schön hier :)
Edit: Typo
I'm from western Ukraine
