Oh for sure and it really shows the class of the players who do break through! I'd be interested to know whether it was the club or the player who wanted the move though and I do get a bit sad when academy players leave, remnants of the wenger days where we got to see them more in the Carling Cup I guess.

Arteta said it was a club decision. Tbf, Arteta seems to actually want to win the Carabao Cup, so there's definitely a difference in mentality there which contributes to it (and also we've been shit outta luck on draws the past two years which doesn't help either)

I think the massive upswing in quality across the Premier League makes any trophy look a bit more desirable nowadays too honestly, makes for better viewing as a neutral at least
