sigh

Wasted so much of my break time today trying to organise things for to make sure everything runs smoothly at work and nothing achieved apart from losing most of my break time today.

I'll be glad to get out of work today as soon as it all ends.

okay so.

I got nostalgic about frozen yoghurt last night.

would it be socially and physically acceptable for me to go have some today

Sky dark.

Update: sky light.

Pizza sauce made, now waiting on the dough in the breadmaker. With 20 mins to go, it's looking a bit wetter than I'd like at this stage of the cycle.

Was thinking of going to the gym but Jesus Christ it's cold

Edit: OK apparently I'm not going to the gym because I've just prepared myself a hot chai. Great

it’s 0C outside. I’m very awake. Not sure if I should get up.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago

Struggling so badly with fatigue and being woken up also didn’t help. Cheers for shouting outside my house at 2.30am cunt. I would possibly have been able to sleep through the night without that

[–] Nath@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I slept poorly. I am not running at 100%.
I made a mistake yesterday afternoon and am wasting time today correcting it.
My August 31 deadline feels a lot closer this week than it did a week ago.

Today is a struggle.

Day 21 of exercises completed. Kids are still home sick. Mr Peeler also unwell, woke me up for medicine during the night and I didn't get back to sleep properly. Then when I did finally get back to sleep I had a weird dream that I was wetting the bed, which was so vivid I awoke immediately and launched outta bed and checked. I used to have dreams like that when I was a kid, but haven't had one like it for literally decades. Very disquieting way to begin the day!

🎼🎶I'm addicted to stress, that's the way that I get things done,
If I'm not under pressure then I sleep too long,
And I hang around like a bum,
I think I'm goin' nowhere, and that makes me nervous.

Everybody's out to get me but I feel alright,
Everybody's out to get me but I feel alright,
Everybody's out to get me but I feel alright,
Everybody's thinkin' 'bout me!
It's the little things that get you,
It's the little things that get you when you work in addiction.
It's the little things that get you,
It's the little things that get you,
It's the little things that get you when you work in addiction 🎶🎶

So at the end of the month I'm going to have to move from Lumo Energy, as their current rates will expire.

Any recommendations for energy retailers? Energy Compare recommends Sumo energy but I've read some very unfavorable things about them. Also they've spammed me for a month on account of the fact I was forced to give an email address to check their rates in detail.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Sumo were also a bit unclear about the details of what you are signing up to and what the differences between their plans is. I was going to go with them, but they seemed a bit dodgy and another company became cheaper anyway when I did the compare again.

I ended up with Nectr for electricity, GloBird for gas. Nectr did have a dodgy estimate of the total price on their website, but the actual rates were the best. I have found that the Energy Compare site is the best resource if you enter your meter number, as it uses the actual use patterns you have. Make sure you select the option to include time of use plans on the left hand side to see all the options, depending on when you use power you may save money.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

One thing to be aware with globird: they do a lot of estimating. They bill monthly, but rely on utility meter reads so every few months you get a wild bill in either direction

Have a fire going in the fireplace full bore thanks to those wax firefighters and the column heater going because Sammi made straight for my lap as soon as I sat down.
Sammi is basking on my legs and Zooks is stretched out on her side with her back to the heater and her front to the fire.
I just hope these cold mornings are over by the time I go back to work.

Damnit, sucked into Alice in Borderland S2. Should have been in Snoozeland hours ago. Pray for me. Today’s work gave me a raging headache. Tomorrow might just lay me flat.

[–] bananafungus@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Never not weirded out when I see an ad for prescription medication when streaming US telly, also shit tons of fast food ads like absolutely insane amounts of fast food ads.

Loving this Android Developer mode setting that forces apps and web pages into dark mode, even if they don't natively support it.

Just over an hour left. I can do this. I can. Really. Or I just can just type random things and hope my boss thinks I'm writing important emails. An occasional mutter thrown in here or there.
