I think sneakypersimmon nailed it by inquiring into your definition of raging feminism in y'all's comment chain. I argue that some consider "raging" to be closer to mindless lashing than unyielding positive movement. Under the former interpretation, the dial is ironic, since of course you can be a productive feminist without, for example, mindlesslly lecturing dinner guests about evil chairs. (I ask the reader to hold their objection about a productive discussion about the topic in emphasis of a mindless interpretation of "raging".) Under the latter interpretation, the dial speaks a good truth. I don't have a conclusive comment for the teacher's thoughts, though.
