The problem is we are only talking about grocery stores where the revenue is only about 3%. Ton of problems with Big Ag which as you said is heavily subsidized. I don't mind the redistribution. I think it is great optics. But I just think it is ineffective, because grocery stores (only talking stores) are in fact very efficient already.

Not a Republican, but there is a lot of nuance.
He can sell groceries at a loss because the money comes from other places...all of which is eventually paid for in taxes (in this case there is probably a small resitribution from rich to poor which I am happy with).
I don't mind Democrats getting caught helping their constituents. But let's not pretend he found some cheap grocery loophole; grocery store are already incredibly efficient, they only make ~3% profit. I am just speculating that the logistics needed to spin up govt groceries is much larger than the existing ~3% markup from the private sector.
That's basically why I love the story. Unfortunately Nolan's movie apparently has very little nuance in that respect.
Completely anecdotal, but I think major subs here have some very active mods with some pretty crazy opinions and like to power trip. Those mods would usually get flushed out over time on reddit.
I think that is a point worth considering too. I would argue we have incrementally been in decline regarding workers for 4 decades, and just not doing that would have also avoided Trump. Anyway we probably mostly agree.
I am definitely going to try this out. Will report back if successful. Do can't prefer synthetic or natural 🤣?
I am scums...for refusing to let you or anyone else censor a single, clear, mostly uncontested fact then I will happily wear that title.
You clearly have moral clarity 🤣.
You just made up a shit ton of stuff and ascribed it to me. What false narrative? I have made one single claim which is clearly true, and you made up everything else including my beliefs and shit I never said. You clearly want to argue about something that I am not even constesting.
Just consider what you are doing for like 20 seconds. Is this who you want to be?
Sorry this doesn't fit your narrative that you are the hero telling people to believe obvious lies. The news article was regarding how Ukraine punished a contractor who stores military weapons near civilians as that is against international law. A commenter compared that to Hamas which seemed pretty relevant since those are the two majors wars occurring at the moment.
Also look at how you can't face the fact you are telling people to censer themselves, so you pivot.
The thing is, I don't disagree with anything you said about Israel, but I absolutely disagree that we all have to sensor our speech from obvious facts because it might coincide with a countries propaganda. That is just nutso MAGA all over it and exactly what you are telling me to do. If you can't see the similarities, I can't help you. "but I am lying for a good reason" is not compelling.
If they were efficient for their owners, there profit would be a shit ton more than 3% of revenue.
Food dumping is its own issue. I bet the government grocery stores will have to follow the exact same laws.
The Piggly Wigley or the Bodega are not raking it in.
