The utter absurdity of this game makes it fun regardless of the bugs and balance gymnastics. I've never felt as satisfied to reign down absolute madness on friends and foes alike as I have playing this game.

This not universally true. Can vary by country, province, and court system level.

I really enjoyed my stint as a juror. Never tried to weasel out of it either.

Ultimately up to you how you approach life but what is it that you want for yourself? When you look back at the end, what is it you want to have achieved?

I get you're comfortable but this part " I don’t really have the will to learn anything new for the purpose of getting a job any more." makes me think you may be limiting yourself. Not even from a money perspective, but, from a goals perspective.

Uh, what? No it doesn't. Not one bit.

They would have been CDs but fuck yes, I have the equivalent in streaming playlists now. Golden era of trance in my opinion. Always puts me in a good mood.

I agree with this take. The claims are plausible from both sides but England obviously won the battle. The inhabitants being established are a result of the military positioning, so their votes will obviously be skewed. Not sure their votes are comparable to those of say native populations of other disputed territories (since there were none).

So I can understand why the Argentines feel aggrieved.

Came across a reddit post claiming the Sony online backlash is making publishers nervous. While unverified, this seems plausible enough.

So as someone who doesn't really do social media aside from Lemmy and browsing reddit, where can I get in on adding my voice to this criticism? Do people still use twitter?

Edit: Reddit post in case anyone cares.

But it would still get dark unless you need to sleep at 5pm for whatever reason. Which isn't a majority I wouldn't think.

Will definitely look into that book.

Sometimes it is greener though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )

I hear this tossed around but, you're serious? In what form?

DST = more light during personal hours for the vast majority of people. Why would I want prime sunlight hours devoured by the corporate machine? No thank you.

Is the "wins" that throws me. Shouldn't that be "win"?

This piece of shit has caused irreparable and traumatic damage to an innocent woman and is trying to hide behind a mental health issue.

Well, frankly, even if they were not mentally well that shouldn't absolve the danger or actions. They need to be removed from society. They should get some help. But the length of sentencing should not include leniency. They are criminally responsible.

Does anyone know of or run lemmy-centric chat services in any capacity? IRC channels, matrix, discord (controversial I know, but would be perfect for this), whatever else?

I was curious to know which community across the fediverse in a given subject/area is the most popular, but am not sure how to find or know that. Having a place to chat about lemmy offline would be the perfect place to ask such questions or having meta discussions without spamming the actual communities, like I'm doing now.

Seems like some life insurance could have helped mitigate the impact. That reminds me I should get some.

Anyone tried his burgers? Is this worth getting excited for?

Wrapped up the first book after much struggle. Am I crazy for finding it extremely poorly written? Writing aside, the characters suck, the motivations suck, and the scenario building feels like it was tossed together by a 12 year old. I don't get the hype. Everything is paper thin. The fictional science aspect is the most compelling part but as a cohesive whole it fails to land.

It's really happening!! 😃
