makes more sense when you think of 'magazine' as a thing that contains things - bullets, articles, goods (seen shops round my way called magazin romanesc), etc
the polish language kbin instance was called karab.in (think carbine as in rifle) so magazine makes sense in that context too
Sir Laurie said she did get legal advice when buying the property, but failed to seek further expert tax advice as recommended.
i know this was all gone over at the time but fuck me. the excuse for dodging stamp duty was that her house was held in a trust fund for her kid who was 17 at the time
five minutes or so on the gov.uk stamp duty website gets you:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/stamp-duty-land-tax-buying-an-additional-residential-property
higher rates apply to [...] any residential property that [...] is owned on behalf of children under the age of 18 (parents are treated as the owners even if the property is held through a trust and they are not the trustees)
this counts as expert tax advice apparently

for weird horror, my favourite that might just be weird enough for the question is The Seven Days of Peter Crumb by Jonny Glynn
You can take the user out of reddit etc

i like this comic so nothing against it in particular (lots of them do it), but it always seems a bit of a shame when a comic has nice art but uses a horrible clashing font for the speech bubbles
well yes but i thought it was reasonably clear that it was meant to be a mocking imitation and not my own opinion. i suppose i fucked it up
(fyi @Ioughttamow@fedia.io i saw yours earlier and forgot to reply, sorry)
for no other reason than that i like it - chumbawamba's version of the world turned upside down
met a total weirdo one night in a place i liked but they declared to be shit, so for first date after went to central london at lunch time and spent the whole day walking back to theirs further north, stopping at pubs and off licenses along the way, laughing and drinking and generally having a marvellous time till staying the night and stumbling home skint in the first throes of love. fucked it up not long after but oh what could have been etc
