I have a bathroom wall that we are currently renovating in a 60s built house and the budget has been eaten up quicker than expected... (but about as quick as should have been expected maybe).

We need to tackle most of the plastering ourselves. One wall which we removed the tiles from looks like the material in the right of this picture .

I have 3 questions and am grateful for feedback to any of these if you can help.

1. has anyone any experience with plastering on this stuff? If so, am I on the right path with a binding undercoat and then lime-cement plaster, followed by sanding and painting?
2. what time should realistically be planned for a 4m^2 wall?
3. On one side, the wall borders plasterboard (yes, the proper wet-room stuff - the builders did most of that). How should the plasterboard wall be prepared, prior to filling and plastering the area near/adjoining it?

Bonus points if anyone has a solid book or reference for plastering. My library has little on this...

Ok, so I'm in need of some basics like USB cables, low ampage power adapters and all my local suppliers are overpriced IMO (€10+).

I feel that Amazon stuff is just repackaged AliExpress stuff, so I want to skip the middle-hand and buy directly from them.

Problem is, EVERYTHING on there seems like a massive scam (€0.15 for 5 etc). Is there any way to not end up with something potentially life threatening on AliExpress?

Unfortunately, as Lemmy doesn't appear to have an indexed search function I am not sure if this is a common question or not. Please point me to the necessary thread/s if this is answered elsewhere.

I'm looking to continue the ball rolling on my home server. Jellyfin setup was a nice dive back into networking, which I haven't done for quite some time and the logical next step is to get all the data we want to retain into a single hub.

Most searches seem to point to syncthing with nextcloud, but before I get started, I want to check I am really going in the right direction.

I would like to primarily remove the space burden from my devices and dump them all onto a few drives and a cloud backup (in case of physical loss of drives). I believe syncthing can do this, but some appear to say that it is not an effective archive tool.

I would like to be able to retrieve this data without much hassle for e.g. photo editing, and place the finished file back on the server. Preferably the local copy would be removed again, to reduce the need for extra space on each device. I would like to run this over nextcloud, but might be misunderstanding the software a bit.

Maybe I'm asking for too much here, but I'm looking for a less-scummy source to base my research off.

I like market-screener, but they are becoming frustrating trying to push towards higher paid plans. I rarely need much more than detailed price & dividend history, valuation ratios and broker consensus.
