It's Ubuntu. I'm "sure" of it because it didn't work after an update, and this has happened a couple times before that after an update my phone isn't recognized and then after the next update the phone is recognized again. I'm not sure what else it could be but I'm not in any sense an advanced user.

Every now and then an update borks the connection between my phone and computer via USB. Normally when I plug in my phone it appears as a disk in the file explorer. Which package is responsible for this? Gvfsd? Is it something about MTP? I would like to roll back to the previous version of whatever is borking the connection but I have no idea how this connection works.

Trying to update && upgrade but getting that error. I'm not sure how it happened but should I just manually add the DNS record for ports.ubuntu.com? I'm using pi-hole. I'm worried this is a MITM attack or some hacker trying to push malware. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks, that's just what I needed! Apparently LOS can't publish the muppets step because it violates intellectual property rights or something.

It all goes well until brunch, when I get tons of errors about missing manifest xml's. I can browse to the folder where the xml file should be (the folder exists) but the folder is empty. Where am I supposed to get them??

EDIT: to be clear, this device has been dropped from LOS support. I have an installation zip and got the proprietary blobs tho...
