I just commented something along these lines on another post of the same article. It really feels like we're entering darker times.
This is the opposite of what the EU stands for and is largely due to US actors lobbying. As a EU citizen, this is the first time I'm very afraid about the direction we're heading towards.

That's a false dilemma. Historically birth rates fall fastest through prosperity and education, not war deaths. Besides, war-driven death tolls only dent the growth rate temporarily and get overcompensated by a subsequent boom.
Tech does advance during wars, but that doesn't mean war is required for advancement. Enormous tech progress also happens in peacetime. Advances don't require war.
Humanity can go so much further if it wasn't for our petty infighting. So many wasted resources.
While I agree that MacOS and Apple have their own share of issues, and while MacOS is far from perfect, I do believe that it is better in privacy matters.
I'm happy that SteamOS covers my gaming wants and MacOS covers my professional needs. Every time I had to interact with Windows in the last 5 years I am dumbfounded at the amount of bad UI/UX decisions and bloat.
If there's was a telltale we're heading the wrong direction, it's this.

This sort of blackmail term change is despicable.
I haven't watched it, but that's not what I've been hearing from friends who have, nor from online reviews.
