leftists always take the wrong stance on shit like this.

don't get me wrong, i think everyone should have access to clean water.

but, it's a trope of american culture to call people whiny, entitled pieces of shit--usually the most vulnerable members of society.

throw it back at them.

my take on his situation is this: "don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

he's some alpha male, huh. i drank dirty water for years growing up in detroit. grow a pair, bro.

most of the negatives we associate with every negative adjective to label a person is just a construct, my dude. if you grew up in a reality without investment bankers and malibu beach houses and harvard college you wouldn't think of that. someone with a heavy ego would just aspire to lead their tribe and probably be way nicer in doing it, and if they weren't, they'd get dealt with.

i'd imagine 3/4 of all of human suffering and insanity would be lessened without the albatross of money and class.

why should anyone care about that?

big guys should stop trying to wear slim fit jeans. like, it doesn't look good. try a relaxed fit, and don't wear a tight shirt when you have a gut.

devil's advocate: "actually, if the factory owner disappeared, the factory wouldn't be able to run because there would be nobody to replace the roof after it caved in; i held off on repairing it for 3 years to buy a vacation home but that's not important.'

you know only engineer/computer science nerds post on lemmy because nobody has called out that the box looks like the box from hellraiser.

no matter what you do to it, you'll probably end up in hell.

more like eating a mexican hamburger and a turnover.

this has gotta be a troll though. it's like a weeb saying the same shit but with the punchline being to eat ramen.

lol. they're also using the aesthetic of a mormon wife to sell their message. that lady buys 20 pounds of beef a week.

trust me, i used to live in salt lake city.

yes. anyone who's 35+ years of age should notice this.

while shitty things used to happen or fly under the radar, mass media used to act as cultural checks and balances to keep the insanity at arms length. but it's all been monopolized--it's all controlled by the crazy people. you have independent journalism but few americans read it, and most online magazines are read by out-of-touch, overeducated yuppies and aren't nearly as biting as they used to be or should be.

but this bullshit should be obvious to anyone because the rest of culture needs to adjust to the insanity, to normalize it. how hard is it to differentiate between parody/satire and reality these days?

it's impossible IMO. when i watch most newer films i assume they're parody because they're so fucking stupid.

arby's has a bad rap, likely because of internet chatter funded by competitors, but they were the first mainstream franchise to introduce the curly fry to the world. this may seem farfetched, but when those delightful arby's trademarked curly fries hit the street, you couldn't just go to the local supermarket and buy a bag of curly fries--it was arby's or nothing. and we loved those funky, spicy, intricately curled potatoes; we were as red with passion as the color of their always crispy exterior.

it became a tradition in my friend circle to indulge in this culinary experiment that would soon become one of the norms of american cuisine; we were pioneers as much as laura ingalls wilder was but our place in history has been paved over by applebees locations serving you inferior fries.

there was an arby's in my local mall right next to the arcade, and my friend and i would indulge in savory roast beef sandwiches and curly fries, always with a generous amount of horsey sauce for that extra kick you'd only find at arby's.

without arby's training a generation of young men/women to appreciate spice, you wouldn't have dozens of thai/mexican/halal joints in your area in 2026.

this is just something to think about--i'm not bragging or making a huge fuss.

so?

has that ever stopped you from downloading the entire nes/snes/n64 libraries?

i stopped there because nothing nintendo has released since then is worth a shit.

where i come from if you don't show up to work for 2-3 days, you're fired. you'd think the snobby fucks lecturing every american about personal responsibility would be able to at least pretend that they're maintaining a high standard.

why is this freeloader even getting free healthcare at this point?

wheel him out onto the street like the bum that he is and let god deal with it.
