The lack of challenge has driven him into a state of apathy, as he watches his life pass by having lost all enthusiasm, at least until he's unwillingly thrust in the role of being a mentor to the young and revenge-driven Genos.

This is the product of a new partnership between Studio Pierrot and Korean production house Red Dog Culture House. From the article:

Studio Pierrot, known for producing many popular anime series including Naruto, Bleach, Tokyo Ghoul, and Yu Yu Hakusho, announced a partnership that was signed in August 2024 with South Korea’s Red Dog Culture House to co-produce and invest in anime content aimed at the global market.

The partnership will see both studios collaborating on upcoming projects over the next three years through a production committee based in Japan.

As the partnership’s first project, the studios will produce an anime adaptation of Lim Kyung-bae and Kwon Soon-kyu’s Latna Saga: The Survival Sword King webtoon. Full-scale production is set to begin later this year.

After being recently discharged from military service and just drifting through life, Hanbin Ryu is suddenly transported to another world. Geoff takes some time to explore ~~all~~ some of the reasons the Uzumaki adaptation went so wrong. I didn't watch the show, but being an outside observer of the community's reaction has been fascinating. The roller coaster of emotions from episode 1 to episodes 2+ is something that I will remember for some time.
