"Serves you right for trying to catch birds in current year. You lot are gonna drive them extinct."

"That's propaganda, we'll never run out of robins."

"That's denialism. Bird species are going extinct at unprecedented rates due to cat activity."

"Well, it's survival of the fittest. Not my fault if we're ahead in the evolutionary arms race."

"I know we naturally evolved to catch birds, but you don't have to just eat whatever your ancestors did. We live in modern society with grocery stores and all that."

"Someone starts a grocery store and suddenly I'm messing up nature by following my natural instincts? I guess I should just be locked up inside, and only cats like you should be outdoor cats, right, fascist?"

"That's not what I'm saying, and we're never going to break the control mechanisms that create indoor cats if you just keep trying to shift responsibility for your choices. The people in charge didn't end up in that position by refusing to learn anything."

"Whatever, not my problem."

Panel 1. While walking on a swamp, a young Gothic Sorceress and her AI cyber parrot flying behind her, meets a little lonely frog on the leaves of waterlilis. The Gothic sorcerer walks with confidence.

AI Parrot: Frog identified. Based on my analysis, I think you should kiss it.
Gothic Sorceress: Ugh... No way Avian Intelligence, and leave me alone.

Panel 2. Shot on the AI Parrot, explaining, the Gothic sorceress turn back, emiting doubt about what the AI bird says.

AI Parrot: I insist, my sources indicate a high probability of a cursed prince.

• Granny seems evil, but is she really?
• As Kayra grew up into a powerful young night hag, the changeling has been living Kayra's human life and hiding her true nature. But it's getting complicated.
• After being exposed in front the real Kayra, the changeling finally has someone to talk to - and she just learned she does, in fact, have a soul.
• Having learned her own backstory, the changeling is trying to come to terms with her identity.

From Love and Hex, a webcomic that grew from a D&D campaign joke into an ongoing rom-com/horror story. It's on Webtoon, GlobalComix and other platforms. Also r/LoveAndHex.

What's going on here?

• The creature made of sticks and mud is a changeling, created by the old night hag Granny Dismal to replace Kayra, who she'd stolen away to raise as a hag.
• As Kayra grew up into a powerful young night hag, the changeling has been living Kayra's human life and hiding her true nature. But it's getting complicated.
• After being exposed in front the real Kayra, the changeling finally has someone to talk to - and she just learned she does, in fact, have a soul.

As for Singing Cricket: he said something very rude to Granny Dismal, so she sent him away to think about what he did. It's not clear where he went, but he seems to be finding his way back through other comics. Happily, u/yoffeepop's Table Top crew are pretty welcoming and supportive.
