On Earth, the cardinal directions are straightforward. The arrow on a compass points to the nearest magnetic pole. You can then use it to travel anywhere on Earth.

In space, the idea of anything being “central” enough to be used as a “North” (since the universe has no center) or being fixated enough to not somehow pose issues is more convoluted.

If you were a pioneer of space exploration, what would your “North” be?

For example, I spent a whole April Fool’s Day once larping as someone from the first century, which wouldn’t be outside a mobile form of performance art.

The feature I want to see is the "blocked score" where it shows how many people blocked a user or a community. And the rankings from the most blocked user/community to the least blocked user/community. If there are too many, then just display the top 10. Maybe add some special icons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 🥇🥈🥉

D-phenylalanine (enkephalinase inhibitor)

Interesting substance, its one of the few dextro (right-spinning optical isomer) amino acids that you can process or something.

I think its fascinating because its purportedly an ~~endorphin reuptake~~ enkephalinase inhibitor? or something so its potentially quasi-opioidergic. I'm not sold on the notion its legit but its definitely a provocative idea.

Would it be awesome if they put some of that vaccine and other vaccines in the bottled water, sodas and swimming pool water? Everyone eventually has to drink water, so why not to it little by little thru a global low dose in the global water supply?

All answers accepted, specially the really wrong ones.

Forgot what made me think about this topic but I've been considering this for a week or two... Curious what you all think.

When I mean "hardest" "video game", I mean whatever game that you find objectively more difficult than all other ones on the market, as long as it's a video game. I guess exposure to different genres/types of games can influence the answer to this question a lot so... Hence I was curious about your rationale.

I have a pretty solid answer & rationale but I guess I shouldn't share that in the main post to bias results...

I've been thinking about upgrading my electric toothbrush since my current crappy one is basically on death's door after a couple years of use. Is there like a toothbrush equivalent of a Toyota Hilux I should know about?

I like to sort the media I consume, and am currently using

  • IMDB (movies and shows)
  • myanimelist (anime movies and shows)
  • GameFAQs (games)

I love the design of myanimelist, you can easily view prequels and sequels, different seasons, specials and adaptations. I especially like that it has notifications about upcoming seasons / movies of stuff I watched. Sometimes it seems I am living under a rock and I only notice that a season 2 of some show I watched came out, long after it aired. Rarely happens with anime.

GameFAQs is not perfect, but I like seeing my ratings in a list. One friend of mine is always whining about having no games to play and then it's time (again) to send him my very subjective list of "good games" and offer to pirate and send him twilight princess.

IMDB is self explanatory, not a good website and full of annoyances but I found no replacement until now.

What I need is: Website with some data about the media (if I get a myanimelist-like for regular shows and games I would be happy), ratings, at best some user reviews. And I'd love to just go onto the site, go to notifications and see "the show you planned to watch is airing soon". And from time to time I want to sift through my ratings, be it nostalgia / wanting to rewatch / replay something or wanting to give out recommendations to a friend

So I am asking y'all: What are you using if you like to sort your shit like I do? A .txt document on your desktop? A great website you want to share? Some sort of launcher having this integrated? Something self-hosted? Feel free to share it all.

What do you guys give your asthmatic kitties and how did you get them in a good place with prevention? We have the fancy AeroKat chamber and she does tolerate it (I can see the indicators flapping demonstrating she is inhaling properly)

She's on

  • 110mcg fluticasone 2x/day before food
  • 100mcg salbutamol~1-3x day right now

She weighs around 9lbs

For me "How long could I get away with driving like an ABSOLUTE ASSHOLE all the time before I lost my licence or had an accident." Speed limits, red lights, stop signs... forget them all. Every day I have to drive sensibly and obey the law because without my licence I dont have a job, and every day I see at least one person driving like an absolute moron and I wonder...

I have a wonderful senior dog and he’s my best friend. And I’m so scared of his aging. As he’s slowing down and I keep an eye out for medical issues I just can’t imagine how and when to make a call about his life.

I work all day away from home and live by myself, which was not the situation when I’d adopted him initially. I don’t have a community or friends or family around to help during the day if and when it comes to that. I can’t afford dog sitters especially not ones with training.

What if he could be fine with more support and money, should I give him back to animal rescue?

So I’m seeing this around a little bit lately. One of the things these articles claim is that “65% of the parts are sourced in the USA”. So my question is: Are these parts actually manufactured in the US? Or, are parts made in China, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, etc…, then assembled in the US and claimed to be “sourced” in the US?

Not trying to make this an anti-musk thing or cybertruck-hate thing. I just want to dig into auto industry and Tesla corporate propaganda and see if there’s a hidden truth in it.
