Lyrics

Can you remember what it’s like
When all the world’s filled with light
Now do you have that in your sight
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do

Have you felt joy in your days
Even though you’ve had your share of pain
What does hoarding that joy gain
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do
Has your belly ever been full
And have you fed your family too
Does your table have just a little more room
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do

Are your blankets soft and warm
Does the roof above you keep out the storms
Can you save someone еlse from being cold
Spread it around, do
Sprеad it around, do
Spread it around, do

It’s true about love
It’ll die if it’s covered up
It’s got to be all given away
So we can all feel the heat of its rays

Can you remember what it’s like
When all the world’s filled with light
Now do you have that in your sight
Spread it around, do
Spread it all around, do
Spread it around, do
Spread it around, do
Spread it around

lyrics

In the town known as Utopia, there are no bosses and no cops, everyone there has everything they need, food, water, shelter, and MOPs, people there can garden in the morning, then make art in the afternoon, people there sing and dance in the evening, freely doing what they want to do,

So remember if we ever have a problem we can get together and make a plan, first we will take what we need and then we will give what we can, the shell of the old world will try to turn your heart into stone, when the cops are against you, you are not alone,

In the town known as Utopia, work and play have been intertwined, everyday there is a new adventure that every person has designed, cornucopia is overflowing, there is always enough wine, people there participate in what they want to create and then they recline,

So remember if we ever have a problem we can get together and make a plan, first we will take what we need and then we will give what we can, the shell of the old world will try to turn your heart into stone, when the boss is against you, you are not alone, when the old world is against you, you are not alone

Lord it gets harder
These times, these times are changing
Faster than before
No love has been displayed out here
And common pains have brought us near

Boy I think its strange
These times, these times are changing
Faster than you know
All that we do should clearly show
That when the need is there love grows

A folk song based on the true event of West Virginia coal miners attempting to unionize, escalating into an armed revolt. If you're interested in the history of the event, The Great War did a video on the subject here.
