I am a beneficiary of a will/trust managed by the Public Trust. They will not distribute my share unless I sign an agreement stating:

‘The parties agree that they will not make any claim against the Trust and that any claims which any of the parties may have had in the Trust either now or under any Act or rule of law or otherwise will be fully and finally settled by the terms of this Deed.’

Has anyone experienced this?

My share is entirely as per the will and trust deed, no variation.

Note I have long raised concerns with Public Trust about their management. They have even admitted there was no management at all some years, despite charging for it. There is little to no visibility of transactions and I feel I can’t ask questions or they will charge for an ‘investigation’. They have literally said this in a response to one simple question I asked if something had been actioned (which should have been on file).

Note let this be a warning, please do not ever use the Public Trust for your wills or trusts.

Hey all. It's awesome news that kiwi are moving into my property. about 2/3 bush with creeks. But I'm not sure what to do if anything. The poor male has been calling for about 2 months.. and there just aren't any females answering. He kinda took a wrong turn maybe. But the bush is a safe place.. Awesome to hear.. but so sad not to hear the return female calls.. like you do when your in theirbteritory.. is there anything I should do? (Northland brown)

I used to buy Melatonin 10mg from iHerb, but they stopped shipping to NZ. I switched to Piping Rock and they were great, but they stopped shipping to NZ. Seems someone is applying pressure on overseas suppliers.

To get it locally you need a prescription at $25 and then pay for the Melatonin at 6x the price I was paying, because it's not funded.

Does anyone have a workaround?

A result of Covid and the almost overnight shift from working full time in office to full time at home meant that corporate employees decided to take the opportunity to move to the regions.

This was a win for almost everyone and absolutely a win for the regions. Money is ultimately diverted away from the major cities and pumped into local economies bringing a hint of equality to this country.

Instead here we are on the back of the PMs announcement which leads the way for the corporate world to mandate the same.

These populations will need to return to only the biggest of cities (AKL, WLG, CHC) and we will once again extract that value from the regions and place even more pressure on these centralised economies and their respective housing stock and infrastructure.

But at least the CBD cafe owners and commercial landlords are going to be looked after… too bad that once again this government shows us how incredibly shortsighted they are and where their priorities lie. Regions be damned.

I heard a door open, went to my front door and saw a kid standing in my laundry room, I open the door and the conversation went like this...

KID "Do you know a guy with white hair, that his car parked outside"

Kid: "Hes my dad's friend, he gives me cigarettes"
