"The idea is to bring the full power of Blender to these devices," the blog post explains. "This requires adapting to platform-specific paradigms, but also to offer more task-oriented user interfaces with reduced information density. The long-term goal is to build out not just a standalone tablet interface, but to offer the same advantages something like an iPad Pro offers to PC-connected graphics tablet peripherals, too—and it goes both ways. Ultimately, a standalone tablet + a keyboard and trackpad should offer the same experience as on desktop, and a desktop PC with a graphics tablet should be the same as a standalone tablet in terms of experience.

The team behind Maybe just released version v0.6.0, and with it announced a major shift: the project is officially moving away from open-source development and pivoting to a B2B-focused model.

From now on, Maybe will focus on enterprise-grade data analysis and scenario planning tools for businesses. As a result, there will be no further updates, maintenance, or community support

This marks the end of Maybe as a public, code-based personal finance tool.

If you’ve been using it personally, v0.6.0 is the final release. You can keep using it as-is, but don’t expect updates.

Ktor-panel is a lightweight admin interface generation library for Ktor servers, and is currently in its last stages of development before official release to the public for consumption. Its selling points are the customisability and security. At the moment, the library supports ORMs and ODMs such as Exposed, Hibernate and the official Kotlin MongoDB driver.

I’d appreciate any feedback, GitHub stars or collaborations as there’s still a lot to build :)

I'm considering buying a robot vacuum cleaner, but I'm not a fan of the idea that it would scan my apartment and send data to the cloud.

I came across the Valetudo project, and it looks promising. It doesn’t replace the firmware - just replaces the cloud connection with local automation systems instead. Has anyone here used it? Or are you using something else for local control? I'd love to hear your experience 🙂

I needed another corded mouse and this time around I thought of @PKL@mastodon.social and @pronk@mastodon.social instead of Logitech's shareholders. These guys make open source mice among other open source hardware under the brand Ploopy. You can order one from them, assembled or as a kit, or you could print and build it entirely by yourself.

The mouse itself is pretty great. Coming from a long line of Logitech (MX518/G5/G500/G502), it's a bit larger than what I'm used to but I think I'm getting accustomed to it.
