Unfortunately, the only hardware component you can actually download is RAM. And increased hardware prices are going to be the primary cost factor.
The funny thing is, I believe RAM is actually one component that isn't manufactured as much in China (compared to other components).
Oh sorry I didn't read the article. Hardware makes more sense.
Then it isn't so much playing games, it's the death of the entire industry. If no one can play anything, there's nothing to sell.

Oh believe me I have. 2 HDDs and 1 SSD. I've also been snatching up DVDs of shows from second hand places since streaming services will become untenable soon
