Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

But the right-wing hate campaign has affected the box office, giving the movie some massive publicity. I wouldn't have even heard about the movie if it weren't for this controversy (I'm a bit saturated lately so I don't keep up with barely any new media).
This phenomenon doesn't only happen in that direction, lots of people cried out racism because of a white Cleopatra. So when is it acceptable to race-bend a character or historical figure and when is it not?
PS: the real Cleopatra (of the Ptolemaic dynasty) was actually white.
You wouldn't have heard about the big practical set full IMAX movie made by the Oppenheimer/Interstellar/Dark Knight director?
I only heard about it because it's been getting news recently. I know the idiots are upset about something, but that's about it. I go out of my way to not be advertised to. 🤷🏼♂️
We live in an age where people hear about breaking news via memes. You don't have to see literal ads in order to hear about something.
But, I guess if all you've heard about it is that people are outraged then it just goes to show the power of conservative media being able to push its message past your filter.
To be fair I've not seen it advertised anywhere and only heard about it because a Youtuber mentioned it was coming out this year in a video a while back and I made a mental note I wanted to watch it. I went to see it the opening weekend without even realising it was the opening weekend! I just saw it listed when looking what was on at the cinema.
I haven't even seen an ad, trailer, review, or article about it that doesn't has to do with the Musk and company drama, yet.
