Origami Owl (lemmy.nz)
submitted 11 months ago by anon6789@lemmy.world to c/origami@feddit.org

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/37121332

Didn't have the best luck on yesterday's owl posted in !origami@feddit.org so I found this one where I could follow along on YouTube. Still took me a few starts over, but we got there!

I printed out a seamless feather pattern, as the 2 toned paper looked helpful for reference. It came out pretty good and with a kink put in the tail, it stands on its own.

I figured it out between this video and this one if anyone else wants to try. I'd love to see your attempts.

What about a weekly game? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I've been thinking a lot about some sort of game to motivate, mostly me, to fold stuff more often. But I don't know what would be fun.

The easiest would be to propose a weekly theme to post.

After seeing the first inktober posts it made me wonder if there was something like that for origami.

This one is a 90 piece Kusudama ball using the sonobe units. Took about 8 hours.

Just used the 12 pieces of Sonobe units to build it. Totoro helped. Took my brain a minute to get it all together but it was finally a success

Sometimes, you need help to find inspiration. Or the reference of the book containing a particular diagram. Hopefully, these sites will help!
