Fake updates for MCBE resource packs

I've noticed multiple creators on CurseForge and MCPEDL releasing updates for their resource packs without making any changes other than increasing the version number.

In their changelogs, they claim they've added support for the latest versions.

I suspect this practice is intended to artificially increase revenue on these platforms by making users believe they need to update resource packs they've already imported.

Two examples are:

Villagers Trade Unlocker by NeBux (older versions are not available for download): https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft-bedrock/texture-packs/villagers-trade-unlocker

White Outline Selection+ by NonpausableMC (see the diff between 1.0.3 and 1.0.4): https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft-bedrock/texture-packs/white-outline-selection

In contrast to Java Edition, resource packs on MCBE don’t require regular updates for new Minecraft versions, as the format version does not change. An update is only needed if the vanilla resource you’re basing your work on is updated.

A random interval charging up its jump before jumping a proportional distance, it would be a much more dangerous and interesting mob.

I made a spreadsheet to help calculate prices for economy servers. it is based on the time you need to produce some quantity of items, subproducts and costs. you need also to verify the price of other player's markets and see if you can produce at a lower price than your competitors.

any suggestions? how do you people calculate price of items?

I want to do more raids but I'm unsure on how to get bad omen, no outposts nearby and the nearest mansion, while worth visiting for dark oak is thousands of blocks away. How do I spawn patrols more?

1.18 btw

So I have a village in 1.18

Its quite big, has a fence around it. Lots of space between the houses and the buildings.

How close do raid enemies spawn to the village?

And also, would 6 iron golems be useful in an easy difficulty raid? I worked a lot on this village (maxed armourer, weaponsmith, mending books etc)

How do I go about defending it?

This is my first java raid and first raid where I don't have the village as a cobblestone cube

It's in the bottom middle

I used to host minecraft at a gameserver hosting service where you can easily click to select mods and so on.

I figured I can host it on a more powerful cloud vserver for cheaper if I can spare the hosting tools.

Can I just copy all the game files to a new server and run it with the same command, I think Java Software works that way right? It wouldn't care for libraries installed by the os, that correct? Both servers are Linux based, but the new one would be on ARM architecture - again, should be irrelevant thanks to Java right?

I'll give it a try, just wanted to see if anyone has tips on what to look out for.

I figured if I get proper startup and shutdown scripts setup I could even spin down the instance when I know nobody will be playing for a while and save some money. It would cost about 50 cents per month to have a separate persistent storage where the scripts could save to / recover from..

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers

If all the mods available for version 1.19 are also available for version 1.20, is it possible to update the server while keeping data? If so, how?

That's so cool, so if you're still on 1.19 you can use the compact update skipping (tutorial e.g. https://youtu.be/-VTuFla1cTs originally by NicNac I believe) to create the bugged shulker and assuming it survives the update have a super convenient way for update surpression in 1.20.

You could even move the surpresser around by repeating it, I mean the setup really isn't that big

In the spirit of bringing content over from reddit, here's a bunch of texture packs I found from my saved posts:

• (MineLands, Allegro) https://matteorizzo.com/
• (Brixel Resource Pack) https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/brixel/screenshots
• (Bare Bones Texture Pack) https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/bb/screenshots

Also a kind of incomplete one I like:

• (Stoneborn Gear) https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/stoneborn-gear/screenshots

Feel free to share your favourite texture/resource pack!

I've built a bonemeal farm for the first time, in the past I never really missed it or thought it would be worth it. It's actually amazing! I used a moss based design and it was cheap and easy to build. Right after I added a micro crop farm for farming wheat which gave me easy access to the mud bricks - what a cool building block! Afterwards I realized I can set up a quick flower farm for dying all the white wool I have left over. I'll try a tree farm next, let's see if it'll be another must-have farm for me!

First they force everyone on a microshit account, then ban you from your own server for drinking a beer...

GODDAMNIT EVERYTHING MICROSOFT TOUCHES TURNS TO SHIT.

Forge Microblocks (or Forge Multipart), and in later versions, Chisel and Bits are very useful mods for resource efficiency; they reduce the amount of air filled. Unfortunately I don't see many posts that highlight this usage.

A commonly cited example is glowstone nooks; microblocks' glowstone still produces light, so cutting glowstone into nooks increases the amount of effective glowstone for the same light that glowstone produces. (A bonus specific to environmine is that glowstone does not produce heat like torches.)

In my Crash Landing world, I used Forge Microblocks to prevent tiny and giant spiders from climbing over the base wall. I used way less cobblestone than if I used only the cobblestone block

In my cactus farm; I used Microblocks to compactly automate the breaking of cactus.

I love microblock mods.

So that's why MultiMC removed CurseForge support (in commit 0a827ba70e6ef20187f8507a536d54a8441020dc). (The commiter couldn't even bother to include the full explanation in the merge commit. This is why I hate GitHub.)

So scummy of CurseForge. They're also trying to insert ads.^["As we supported Linux, we tried to technically look on how ad monetization would look like on Mac & Linux (something that we didn't yet have the bandwidth to do).", Old API deprecation, Linux and Standalone client FAQ]
