They don't really acknowledge them as legitimate so there's that. They also fund Hamas to keep it going. They kill their leadership leading up to negotiations then violate deals and cry about "having" to break them. They're actively fighting and it occupying I think all but one of their neighbors.
The vast majority of known hostages killed lately are all due to Israel directly. They say they know the location and then end up killing everyone in and around it and go OMG they killed that hostage!
So legit, they want terrorists to surrender to save civilians they also say the same terrorists are using as human shields. Oh and I forgot literally everyone is Hamas, doctors, cops, teachers, children, babies, buildings, cars, infrastructure,.... Fuckin food....
