Backstory (tl;dr easily switch between my computer and phone (android desktop mode) with the push of a button).

I have the button, but the USB the cables seems to need to be juuuuust right for desktop mode to kick in.

The plan is to affix a USBC phone stand to my desk that I can just plunk the phone in there without fiddling with the cables every time. I tried the MCON Dock but the USB is apparently charge only.

Any products out there anyone is aware of?

My company enacted a strict "no personal use" policy for company hardware. I have my boss's blessing to use a personal machine but at the same time I don't want to make it obvious to everyone when I'm doing personal tasks, so the plan is to get a USB-C switch connected to the docking station and a micro-PC tucked under my desk I can quickly switch to.

Any suggestions for mini hardware that only needs a USB-C connection? It does not need to be powerful, since I'm really going to be using it as a web browser.

I'm using a 16gb ram machine and bought the pure optane drive for less than 10 dollars (converting from reais and adding the 2 day delivery), 16gb of ram is 15 times that rn.

As I'm using a swap partition with zswap on a LUKS encrypted drive, at least I'm expecting it to have better performance overall when hitting the swap.

If no one used, I might post about the performance difference later this week.
