Hi all, I'm relatively new to this instance but reading through the instance docs I found:

Donations are currently made using snowe’s github sponsors page. If you get another place to donate that is not this it is fake and should be reported to us.

Going to the sponsor page we see the following goal:

@snowe2010's goal is to earn $200 per month

pay for our 📫 SendGrid Account: $20 a month 💻 Vultr VPS for prod and beta sites: Prod is $115-130 a month, beta is $6-10 a month 👩🏼 Paying our admins and devops any amount ◀️ Upgrade tailscale membership: $6-? dollars a month (depends on number of users) Add in better server infrastructure including paid account for Pulsetic and Graphana. Add in better server backups, and be able to expand the team so that it's not so small.

Currently only 30% of the goal to break-even is being met. Please consider setting up a sponsorship, even if it just $1. Decentralized platforms are great but they still have real costs behind the scenes.

Note: I'm not affiliated with the admin team, just sharing something I noticed.

Parnas wrote down the test in 1972 and most codebases still fail it. A module is characterised by the design decision it hides from every other module. That's the whole rule. Private fields, protected methods, a tidy export list, none of that counts for anything if the decision underneath is still visible to everyone who calls in.

The getter and setter pair. A class takes a field private, then exposes read and write for it. Every caller can reach in and set the thing, so the module has fused itself to every callsite that knows about its insides, exactly as if the field had been public. The keyword did the syntactic part and nobody did the design part. The field is private and the decision is not.

A module exporting a helper that one caller uses is the same failure at the file level. The boundary is theatrical. If only one caller needed it, the helper belongs inside that caller, and leaving it on the public surface tells every future reader that it's part of the contract when it isn't.

Agents have made this worse rather than better. Handed a class with a getter for every field, an agent reads the getters as the vocabulary of the module and builds on them. A person might notice the shape is thin and go and look, an agent takes the surface as the contract, because the surface is what it was given. Two getter-and-setter classes and the decision that was supposed to be hidden is now the interface for the next twenty files.

The surface is the meaning, because the surface is what gets copied.

Forgive the smelly domain.

This is a fantastic short essay by Rich Hickey.

From the GitHub profile page: github.com/mahapo/zcp-transmitter

Speech as radio pulses, in the browser. Audio (microphone, eSpeak text-to-speech or a file) runs through a filter chain, every zero crossing of the result becomes one short RF pulse, and an SDR sends the pulse train. It is a port of a GNU Radio desktop app, and its chain reproduces that app's output: of the 74 configurations of the app's reference catalog, 56 come out bit for bit and the other 18 are identical until the speech has ended.

Run it live in your browser, right now: https://mahapo.github.io/zcp-transmitter/

Am trying to learn web development by creating a website my own instead learning every single theory written on a textbook.

Currently am trying to link a stylesheet and favicon on my root folder into the file called debian.html and debian-post-install.html. But it's not working and I don't know why.

code used inside both html files head section are,

<link rel="stylesheet" href="/styles/style.css" />

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/images/favicon.png" />

To point to the root directory files or directories we use / in html instead of ../ right? Then why it's not working.

Also I need advice on how bad is my html file structuring and what changes recommended.

Solution

<link rel="stylesheet" href="../../styles/style.css" />

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="../../images/favicon.png" />

After I type 'git reverse ' in the terminal of vscodium, it always throws this message at me.

Auto-merging app/build/posts.html
CONFLICT (content): Merge conflict in app/build/posts.html
error: could not revert 0cc6763... new blog
hint: After resolving the conflicts, mark them with
hint: "git add/rm <pathspec>", then run
hint: "git revert --continue".
hint: You can instead skip this commit with "git revert --skip".
hint: To abort and get back to the state before "git revert",
hint: run "git revert --abort".
hint: Disable this message with "git config advice.mergeConflict false"

Then as the hints say, I type 'git status', fix the error, then commit and push again. But again the same message shows and I have no idea what to do. Getting mad as a beginner.

As i found no useful guides online, please help me to fix this issue without AI.

So recently I've stumbled upon a video, where a guy creates an animation by programming it with maanim.

And after that I also found a way to create music with programming too.

So I'm wondering.. What else can you actually create using programming? Besides the obvious software, VR, AR and all that
