This is a project I started to help me learn godot. I am a developer professionally. I just haven't done game dev. It was a fun experience and now I am ready to share it with the world :)

A great older talk by TJ. He is a familiar figure in the Neovim community for a lot of people and is known for Telescope. He also has a Youtube channel.

TLDW: Beyond Neovim's speed, it's Vim motions and other advantages, it was the playground that allowed him to truly play around with the code that he was writing. He contrasts this with his corporate job, where a lot of variables were unknown and the release cycles were painfully slow. The main idea is that it allowed him to practice actually writing code in a way that he wasn't able to working at a company. He ends by stating that the playground doesn't have to be specifically Neovim, and urges people to: "Find your own playground to practice software development".

I know before the native neovim completion had problems with integrating LSP's or something like that. Or It couldn't do both LSP's and snippets. Can't recall the specifics.

But I heard it has gotten better in recent releases.

So I wonder is there still a good reason why use plugins like blink.cmp or mini.completion over native?

I found this great extension for blink.cmp. But feel like I don't need blink.cmp other than for this one use case.

We dumped his Youtube playlists; he favorited Scott Adams, Mel Gibson, Peter Thiel, Eric Weinstein, Curtis Yarvin, and more. Justin is a coward who decided to delete the playlists.

Nvim Treesitter is back! (discuss.tchncs.de)

It has been a few days, but I just want to spread the good news that Nvim treesitter is back.

Someone already created a post in the Github discussions. Maybe you guys can show some love there as well.

Doing something like 5G, the location before jumping to the 5th line gets added to the jumplist. However, if you do 5j or 5k - they do not. You need to manually do m+backtick and then do 5j.

I'm interested is there any reasoning for this? Seems such a weird default behavior.

I am very new to nvim in general, and lately I have been trying to see if I can get configured to work better for rust programming (simple stuff, like proper language highlights, automatic formatting, if not too much work have rust-analyzer to sometimes check what is being done once in a while). I tried to check online what people post about this subject, and more often than not I am lead to guides and explanations that clearly do not work with the more recent versions of nvim. And in some cases, they shove so many plugins that I lose count (and many times tried to change stuff like init.lua just to end up with a broken install).

So my questions are:

  • What options can be used by nvim itself that makes it more suitable for rust development (excluding plugins)?
  • If plugins must be used to have more advanced features, what are they and what are the best practices to add them to nvim?

EDIT: typos
