Something strange just happened. From the corner of my eye while watching TV I saw a flash in the sky. Thought it was lightning. About 20 seconds later all of my house lights quickly flashed off and on.

Looking at the radar thereโ€™s no thunderstorms around. So what was that? ๐Ÿ‘ฝ

We've got a 2.5 hour stop in woomelang for lunch again. I've been feeling nauseous since we left Mildura. I seem to be less nauseous if I drink some sweetened juice or similar, but I think I'm gonna skip lunch. I can't eat much more than a couple bites of a muffin

We kept a bit of apricot chicken for kiddos dinner, and honestly? It was a lot better the second night. The flavours have all blended together rather that the kind of offensive flavour of last night.

Still wanna find some other Dutch over chicken thigh recipes though.

Had a good day today. Did some laundry while looking at quotes for car insurance. Mr P had been with the same insurance company for years, and his premium had gone up to a "you've got to be joking!" level (lookin' at you RACV). But once I factored in his age, good history, low mileage/usage, new customer discount etc., the potential for huge savings was too attractive and he switched. Watched the wrestling with the Elder. Did odd things around the place but basically looked after Miniest, who's still sick.

I've jumped in the car, fired up my audiobook and have headed east. Stopped for a party pie and a Bavarian Cream Ring in Healesville. Just consulting the map on where to go next but I'm thinking mountains.

I had too many stimulating things yesterday and couldn't sleep till 2, felt like a total wreck this am and absolutely couldn't get out of bed until 1pm - wasted a whole glorious morning of sunshine to do the laundry ๐Ÿ˜ญ let alone go for a walk.

Hurriedly doing it now on a short cycle to get even 2-3 hours of sun in, scarfed down some lunch and gonna try move as many of the plants as I can before Terrible Weather descends on us from the wee hours of tonight. Will NOT beat myself up for the total lack of energy and motivation to get out of bed and embrace life.

Movie review. Crimson Peak.

This is a difficult movie to review on account of I'm not sure what it is.

I think it's world building, a beautiful dangerous strange world of the main character's mind. I think it was described as a fever dream. But there is a reality in it all and the main character, Edith, has to sort out dangerous reality from scary but harmless dreams, to trust her judgement and determine her own fate.

( Fever dreams and hallucinations used to be a much more common phenomenon . Caused by the fevers of TB or malnutrition or poisoning by the environment or contaminated food. )

4 hobbits, will have to watch again

more TW: vomittingFinally got into the hotel. Unfortunately when we were all of 5 minutes away (the train drops us off at Maryborough and coaches being us to Creswick) I threw up again. On the bus. Fortunately I brought rubbish bags from the train (they had no sick bags but did have rubbish bags), and I'd double bagged them before I got on the bus. I was doing alright, if nauseous, until we started going over pothole after fucking pothole.

I don't think I'm going to be up to taking the train back to the city tomorrow. The organisation that runs the lead tenant place has an after hours support line who could probably organise a lift for me and my worker back to Melbourne, but they might not get here until 2 or 3 in the morning or whenever someone is free. Or if I wait until 9 when the program coordinator starts, I can call her and she can arrange something. But I really don't want to be on the train for another 12 hours while I can't hold even a few sips.of water down, and I don't have much faith that I'll be better in the morning.

Tomorrow's the last day of the trip, so it's kind of a conflict about whether I suffer through it for just 12 more hours and finish the trip, or go home and miss out and the last little bit of the trip. Really, I've seen all of the last leg before, so I won't feel sad about missing anything, but at the same time there's only 12 more hours of the train and then I can say I've done it in its entirety.

That's a tough one. Sometimes vomiting clears up after a day, but I couldn't think of much more miserable then being on a train for 12 hours feeling like that.

I would probably try to get some sleep and make a call early morning. If you are feeling crap then bail and call the program coordinator.

I don't know but maybe it's worth talking to the after hours support person tonight - maybe they have some other advice.

Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

Being sick when you're travelling is the worst. Don't try to push through to complete your trip if you might be able to get home more comfortably, it's not worth it. Try for the lift.

Hang in there.
