Test results still not back. ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐ŸคฌRash is spreading all over arms and legs, my butt, neck, and has just shown an interest in my left boob. I feel utterly miserable about it. My MIL (who's had her share of skin issues) says, "Oh I always get my results back 24, 48 hours at the most. But then I've had my tests done by the specialists." Yeah alright miss smarty pants private health cover part pension, you're not helping.

They are growing the bacteria and I guess they want to be thorough so that will take days. Way longer than blood tests. Fingers crossed you find something with an easy fix!

In the interim is there anything that might sooth the symptoms?

Do antihistamines help any with this?

I wouldnโ€™t listen to your MIL, donโ€™t need her 2 cents about her experience and how lightning fast things are. Doesnโ€™t help you in the slightest.

So. I grabbed a ps5 the other day. I got it running to install everything etc.

I have not touched it since as it's been work nights. I don't game on work nights.

Tonight however, is FINALLY TIME TO PLAY!!!! Fuuuuuuck yes.

Decided to go to the gym to get rid of my "dickhead at work is screwing up my projects" gunk out of my system.

Then I can hopefully relax.

Edit: much better.

I've got the day off. So far I've contacted Elder's ex school about emptying his old locker so I can sell the books and waiting for a call back. Twiddles thumbs Made and drank a couple of coffees. Looked at a website of clothing that I absolutely fell in love with, but it turns out they're unreliable and the clothing is not up to scratch. Devo'd as it was totally my style ๐Ÿ˜ญ (It was Airpears Japanese ocean art style clothing, not so much the dresses but the shirts, pants and men's hooded fleece jackets that I loved).

This week I have partaken in some obsessive Spring cleaning. This included doorframes and fly screens.

Still plugging away towards SDC (aka Swedish Death Cleaning). Very mixed feelings about it. Also Llab has become even more like a mix between mecurial Melbourne weather and a Cure album (Wild Mood Swings should about sum it up). Itโ€™s just almost like an OOB experience.

Like being super cognisant of highs and lows. The promise of two good days of weather boosted me so much that I actually thought I was going a bit batty and the snap changeโ€ฆ oofโ€ฆ Bon voyage, motivation.

How us Melbournites survive, I really donโ€™t know. Itโ€™s a bit of a mystery. Haha.

Home time!

Pizza is on its way, snacks have been purchased, extra cat treats so I won't be hassled for my pizza.

Let's see if the ps5 was worth it.

I got paid all my leave. I thought I wouldn't get it because I was terminated, but it's all there. Trying to keep my leave was one of the main reasons I was trying to make my old job work, and I thought it would be a loss I'd just have to eat moving into the new role.

But I got it. I'm going to hold onto it because I probably won't get paid over Christmas, so I can hold onto the leave pay I'd have to use then anyway.

Maybe you always get your leave, because you've technically already earned it. I thought it didn't get paid out if you got terminated

[โ€“] tone212_@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Doesn't matter the reason for your termination, you always get your annual leave paid out. Did they ask you not to work out your notice period? Because then you should get that paid out too on top of leave, depends on why you were terminated though. Check Fair Work website to make sure you got paid everything you are entitled to.

I love my sister dearly, I really do but when she has shower thoughts while on the phone to me, it takes alot of courage to not go yep, yep, yep, yep so I pepper my responses with right, ah ha, mmm, yes.

Bring on beer o'clock.

I think I may have just secured a GA ticket to Pearl Jam.... Say what you will, but they are a seminal band for me. Many core memories burned into my soul.

This version of Ledbetter was on a complication album I had of the Tibetan Freedom Concert from 94 (?).... All that's missing is the we are the mighty mighty bosstones as the track ran into the next one. Ha.

My back is acting up. And the Coffee I bought was a shot short. Therefore, it had too much milk and was lukewarm.

This has not been a great morning. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Looks like I'm sleeping on the couch.

RIP ๐Ÿชฆ my back I guess.

I caved and went to colesworth on the way home. Airfryer chicken schnitzel for dindins tonight. Plus a few vinos in honour of Pasta Day. Big shout out to all the pasta grannies out there. They are inspirational.

Ergh, way more interest than expected at today's viewing. So many couples... goddamn couples how can I compete with you on a fulltime wage let alone a part time one ๐Ÿ˜ญ

At this point I'm just going to throw it all to the universe and believe that whatever unit I get will be the one I'm meant to be at.

E: ffs it got cancelled after we milled about for 10-15 minutes because the agent couldn't get a screen door open lmao.

A while back I mentioned the writing competition I am running with the help of Libraries Tasmania. There are 2 days left and we have ~~40~~ 46 entries so far. It's gone so much better than I thought it would. I'm really happy with the entries, especially since the second biggest library/area got flooded so might have missed out on a few entries from kids who didn't know about it.

Next year, if they want to do it again, I'm going to add another field for comics/graphic novels.

Place next door (4 apartments) goes up for auction tm. I'm in two minds.

  1. If sold it'll be developed which means noise.

  2. If sold finally the weirdo in one of the apartments who kicks bins and cuts the lawn with hand shears and has a go at me about leaves falling in Autumn will be gone.

Are you, too, ashamed of the disaster in your under-sink cupboards?

Edit: OK I did a big purge in the kitchen cupboard. I need some more containers for the bathroom cupboard though... maybe some other day...

Have learned something that MUST be shared. Not only is it National Pasta Day, but National Champagne Day!! (not to be confused with International Champagne Day, which is 31st December). This one is declared by the Champagne Bureau. I might need to celebrate - just had carbonara for dinner!

Tomorrow I'm going to slather on the calamine lotion and take the family to the latest Lucha Fantastica wrestling event. It's the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. Can't wait to go! I buy the tickets pre release so they cost very little, and we go out for lunch before the event. It's our little family outing every 2-3 months and I look forward to it for weeks (usually it's me and the kids going out, or Mr P and the kids, like a divorce lol).

No pizza today because I had that on Tues and leftovers the last two nights. Tonight instead I have fish and chips for the air fryer. And I'll sautee some spinach for helth.

In the midst of everything I've forgotten entirely to figure out upgrading the firmware on my phone so it can do 4G calls. Just got a notice today saying they'll block me from calls AND data after 28/10, what the fuck, I was just going to keep going on data for a while before I worked it out. And I think they're doing it based on phone model regardless of whether you've actually enabled 4G calls the hard way (this phone is technically capable of it, just needs the right firmware). Not something easily explained to call centre support...

Zero spoons for it tonight but I guess I'll have to get cracking on that tomorrow sigh I do have my work phone as a backup at least

Feeling cute, might get some pizzas idk.

I dared to look at jordan peterson politics vid. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

regardless of what our principles are there are some real problems with him and his politics followers

Peterson is a genius, he really is. He's far smarter than 99.5% of people out there. Problem is he's arrogant and bitter and doesn't seem to question his world view and what he does much. That's an easy habit to get into. He needs better friends to knock some sense into him.

His politics followers are not stupid, just average, but they don't have the skills or knowledge to see through all the bullshit, scams and lies out there.

I've decided to spend the afternoon making soap. Hopefully this batch won't stick in the moulds like the last lot did.

Edit: First batch was a complete disaster. I didn't pay enough attention to the temperature and ended up with a curdled mess. Attempted to blend it into submission, poured it into mould and crossing my fingers (but it's not looking good). Second batch went well. I used a yellow ochre for colouring which turned it a lovely caramel colour and now I want to eat caramels.

I am going to mow the grass now which I have been putting off for far too long.

Edit: grass has now been mowed. Next time I promise to get fancy and do the edges too.
