If you're running Windows, what version and why? If Linux, what distro?

I've been running Pop!_OS 22.04 and more recently the 24.04 build with the new (alpha) Cosmic Desktop Environment. It's been wonderful to use--solid hardware, solid OS. For 3 years I built a company called Relm (a 3D world with video and audio, similar to gather town) and failed at the business, but it was the 13" Framework laptop that gave me a sense of freedom, ownership, and confidence that I could replace parts if needed, as I built the business and codebase.

I run Fedora KDE, mostly because after a bunch of distrohopping on my main computer it was the distro that worked the best for me.

Fedora seriously impressed me when I tried it out. It was by far the most polished and stable OS I'd seen after a string of distrohopping beauties-lacking-substance for daily driving. Good choice!

When I get a framework laptop in the distance future I will be getting one with Linux Mint pre-installed as it’s a simple to use distro and the developers have a partnership with Framework so the hardware should work great!

Mint is a great OS. I love its simplicty.

I have Windows 11 on mine right now because it's what I'm used to and it came on the prebuilt system but I've been seriously considering giving Linux a try. I'm not sure what distro I would start with though. The only experience I have with Linux currently is using the desktop mode on my Steam Deck to install some mods

FWIW I found Fedora to be the most robust "works out of the box" distro, followed closely by Pop!_OS (I use Pop).
