!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Asking for a friend? It’s tough out here. No face shots.

Yes, but I would blame capitalism for forcing me.

Many years ago I used to stream to a cam site. I walked passed someone who pointed me out to his friend and said he saw me and where online he saw me. It wasn't a good feeling and while some people may stream for a kink I did it solely for money and that interaction brought about all kinds of feelings. And I still worry now that I will be recognised and even have it publicised. But if I fell on hard times I might do it again while opting to hide my face.

I wouldn't recommend it for others, it looms especially if opting to show face.

Yes, especially with no face shots. That being said, I think it's brutally competitive these days. You are probably better off checking the beer money reddit sub if you are having trouble making ends meet and can't find a proper job.

What's the market for fat old dudes like?

[–] Godort@lemm.ee 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Pretty good, actually. Assuming that you can brand it the right way.

For example, if you're okay catering to gay men and can position yourself as a confident top with a dad-bod, there is a market for you.

Would fans pay to watch a short, fat guy write code while wearing nothing but his underwear (and sweat pants, and a slightly over-sized t-shirt)?

[–] Godort@lemm.ee 11 points 5 days ago

They might, actually. I know of some people that stream software development to Twitch

I've thought about it, but I'm willing to bet that the demand for a thirty something tran is pretty low

If the creeps that message me on Grindr are anything to go by, you’d def be surprised. I’ve thought about it, ngl.

I have a bit of an exhibitionist kink. If I thought I could make more money then I currently do, I totally would.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 9 points 5 days ago

My friend has on Only Fans and she doesn’t get very much money. She’d make more waiting (food service)

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 5 days ago

I’d need to get in better shape first. As it turns out my new workout shoes will be here tomorrow. Maybe the universe is telling me to turn myself out?

[–] daniskarma@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 5 days ago

No. I'll probably try to set up my own website.

[–] Free_Opinions@feddit.uk 7 points 5 days ago

I am doing it but not on OnlyFans and not for money. I'd be more than happy to monetize it if it was that simple but I'm a guy making quite niche content so I'll stick with the crowd of few thousand Twitter users following me.

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Honestly no. It doesn’t align with my values.

I'd do that just for fun, but I don't mind getting paid for that either. The main reason I haven't yet is simply because I've been busy doing other things. But it is on my list of fun activities to try out

Conceptually, yeah, but it seems like a huge hassle to cultivate a following and maintain it.

[–] Godort@lemm.ee 5 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I'd probably use Fansly instead of OF, but yeah, absolutely. (Assuming that I had the drive to actually do the marketing legwork and had something to offer that was actually in demand, that is)
