@immadeofgold I'm pretty excited despite it being daunting. It reminds me of the 90s internet days. Looking forward to learning something new and fun.

I'm trying out Jerboa but it keeps telling me I'm not logged in every time I try to do something.
Anyone else having this issue?
Pretty good, can someone explain how federation works with Lemmy? Are communities linked?
I dig it.
I suppose the Reddit issue has at least got me to look into Lemmy. Seems interesting, albeit quite small. Still, oak trees grow from small acorns, etc, etc. ;-)
Confused? Excited! Yes to both! Will take a while to get acclimated and understand how it all works together, different from Reddit as this seems to be separate and together at the same time. Glad you're all so open to accept the Reddit refugees, have felt very welcome, so a very big thank for that.
I'm enjoying it. The mobile PWA needs a card view like the MLEM app, unless I'm missing something.
I think it's an improvement to reddit honestly. The communities seem chill compared to Frontpage so I'll stick around.
Thanks for having us! I'm excited to try this out. I am only just trying to figure out how all of this works.
I have subscribed to several communities now, but when I go to the main page, I still see the generic content that was there before I logged in. How do I view a feed of just the communities I have subscribed to (analogous to the front page on reddit)
is there any advantage of using one instance vs another? I made accounts on both kbin and lemmy.world, is it all the same except whatever UI i prefer?
When i visit some communities in kbin, it tells it the posts might not all be up to date
Figured Iβd just pass along a quick βhelloβ as someone that just jumped on tonight. Keen to see how the service develops and grows. Hope Lemmy in general takes off in time! Certainly early days (nabbing my first name as a user name is always a sign of that!), but thereβs great potential.
Looks clean and slick as well as familiar, many will find the transition smooth - excellent work!
I'm waiting for some new communities to pop up, but the layout is good.
Until now I really enjoy my experience on Lemmy. The UI is great and minimalist, and things actually work, unlike on Reddit lol
So far, I'm liking it! I enjoy the feel of the community here. I was mostly a lurker on reddit so it's nice to participate for once.
Iβve been here for a few days and love it! I have a community too, called allaboutfantasymedia which I hope to get off the ground soon.
Thank you and Lemmy feels like it could really become a wonderful haven for us long time Reddit users.
Whereβs the home page? I subscribe but I always see Lenny.world. Please help
A bit confusing, but I'm really excited about this. I hope the 'choose server' part when you sign up gets streamlined a bit. It's very confusing for new people. My first post on Lemmy by the way!
I like it! Thanks for having us
It's frankly really nice. The conversations here are more civil in what I have seen so far, and feel organic. I really love the "vibes" of this space and the fact that it is so much better than doomscrolling on Reddit. I have seen some very nice comments here, and have spent the last few days trying my best to understand what "federation" is. It is a bit daunting for a not-so-tech-savy person like me, but hey, it's great. I really hope it grows nicely and becomes a good alternative.
Thank you for getting this up and running, and to anyone reading, may you have a wonderful day :)
Trying to get used to using a new system, but great to see the growing community here!
Still trying to get my head around this fediverse stuff. I admittedly gave up on Mastodon pretty quickly because I just couldn't figure out how to work it, but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of Lemmy after searching out a few guides.
I'm loving it so far. However, Jerboa could use some work. The font size settings are wacky.
Liking it so far!! Especially the spirit, kinda throws back to the mid 2000s
