Filters in the fediverse are so nice.

[–] algorithmae@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 1 day ago

Yet this bypasses filters because it's not in the title or text

[–] fxomt@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago (4 children)

If only Lemmy had actual keyword filters :/

I love piefed, and I'd switch to it if the UI is better or they had custom clients support :(

[–] mesamunefire@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I agree. Its by one dev (mostly) so its amazing what they did :) The bones are solid!

I really want a client on phone.

I have every word relating to the US filtered. Every community filtered. And it still fills half my feed. Wish I could do more.

I can't seem to add enough keywords.

[–] Snowpix@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

Shame filters rely on people actually including the filtered keywords in the title.

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 8 points 1 day ago

I wish I could filter words in community names.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Not nice enough, since this would still end up on your feed.

Yeah, it means something bad is happening. People are talking about it because they don't want to do anything serious about it, which is somewhat good. It would be good to solve this problem with words only.

[–] mrsemi@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago (2 children)

And yet with all my filters, here you are shitting up my feed with yet more.

Fuck you very much.

[–] Cephalotrocity@biglemmowski.win 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, the rage at every time something gets around the filters is nowhere near the stress built up while the filters were inactive.

Annoying? Absolutely. Worth getting upset about? Nah. I'm not going to pick fights with every person complaining about American stupidity at the water cooler. I'm not going to be rude to people here just because the text passed the filter. It would be more constructive to instead, erm, direct energy towards removing the source of the problem than tilt at windmills.

I bet if Trump could take over earth by imprinting himself over people like Agent Smith, he would.

[–] BrundleFly2077@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is why I wrote a script for Firefox that redacts pictures and mentions of Trump and Elon, haha

[–] LostXOR@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Link to the script? I'd love to give it a try.

Next time I’m on my desktop I’ll be sure to post it here as a reply to your comment so you get a note.

Needs TamperMonkey to run.

I hate how US centric lemmy.world is. Wish I could block all Americans.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 4 points 1 day ago

We need a non-US instance for sure.No US IPs allows, no communities that allow US news or news directly related to them. USAmericans are just so friggin loud online and IRL.

The afterlife thankfully doesn't mention him, it doesn't mention anything.

@title: A smart person would limit exposure and stick around to not have to find out.

My kingdom for some beans!
