Lmao I hope Elon hates that Altman called it Twitter not X

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago

They're the same guy.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 199 points 1 day ago

Altman sucks but that's a hilarious burn

Do I want Twitter to be taken over by OpenAI? Absolutely not. Do I despise neonazis more than I hate generative AI? You bet.

Therefore, this is a little funny.

[–] weew@lemmy.ca 28 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Would Twitter be any worse if 100% of the posts were AI generated?

[–] SGG@lemmy.world 15 points 20 hours ago

It might help the readability?

[–] Rozz@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

If they were trained on Twitter then probably not worse but maybe accidentally better, or most likely exactly the same

[–] mrunicornman@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

The only possibility is all possibilities.

[–] orclev@lemmy.world 124 points 1 day ago (1 children)

$9.74 billion for the trash fire that is Twitter is honestly a really good offer, the muskrat should definitely take that.

[–] Jesusaurus@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean its served his purpose so musk has minimal use for it now...

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Wrong. He's definitely deadset on X.com being Da Everything App.

[–] foggenbooty@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

This again? It's not going to happen.

[–] weew@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 hours ago

He's best buds with the fascist-in-chief this time.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It won't but he still wants it bad enough to cling to it

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 6 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

My guess would be he wants ChatGPT because he can't seem to get Grok working, lol

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 1 points 19 hours ago

Grok seems to be working fine. It's about as competent as... Gpt4.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Seeing how Tesla sales took a nosedive after Musk went full Nazi and the eXodus is still ongoing, the everything app is not going to be popular.

[–] ZeroPoke@lemmy.ca 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I believe he wants it to a payment thing like PayPal or some shit. And I imagine that's what his lackies are doing in the Treasury. He will force the US to use it for all their payments. I wouldn't be surprised with like X bucks too.

[–] ansiz@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Thiel had the board of Paypal vote to boot Musk out of the company while Musk was on his honeymoon. I can only hope something similar could happen while he is in DC sleeping at the foot of Trump's bed.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Agreed but something being unpopular never stopped him before

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Is he? I haven't heard anything about it for a year.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

It's been his dream since before Paypal. Now he has a leg-up on the competition and his hands in the treasury

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

OK but he has different toys now

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Trying to make sense of his obsession with making an American WeChat is a fool's errand

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

You're missing my point.

It's understood that he's periodically wanted to do this thing.

I'm saying that I'm not sure there is any actual focus on it at the moment or in the near future, since I haven't heard anything about it for a year. I'm trying to ask if there's evidence the dude cares or if he's fucked off to other stuff.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

There's no hard evidence that he's actively pursuing it nor that he's abandoned it, no.

How long before this type of behavior gets you thrown out of a window?

In Soviet Amerika, MS Windows throw you.

Not sure where I was going with this one honestly. Started as a callback to Russia owning the White House and then I theew in some corporate twist and couldn't figure out how to land it.

The world needs a lot more Italian plumbers.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

I'm sorry, but our plumber is in another dungeon.

[–] Mrkawfee@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Defenestrate! Defenestrate!

[–] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 57 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Two of the worst people in America fighting.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

When elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers.

They're just playing. Fighting implies one of them could lose. These fucks can fool around at the expense and anxiety of their employees with no regard for any meaningful consequences of any of their actions.

[–] NeoNachtwaechter@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Why's Musk looking so overweight?

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

His torso shows signs of un-treated childhood asthma, which can result in complications as an adult.

[–] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Some blue tick twitter account probably told him that healthy living is woke or something

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 day ago

Hate and hamburger diet ages you.

[–] earphone843@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

He looks like he's been submerged in water for a few weeks.

It’s the equivalent of two young kids arguing over trading marbles in the playground.
