Summary

Fox News host Jesse Watters faced backlash after criticizing DOGE for laying off a veteran friend, despite previously praising its cost-cutting efforts.

He argued veterans should be prioritized over DEI consultants, prompting critics to point out that hiring veterans is part of DEI.

Online users mocked his inconsistency, with some noting his misunderstanding of DEI principles.

"You're almost there, Jesse. The veterans are DEI hires. You're confused because you think DEI means 'Black,'" an X user wrote.

How's his cognitive dissonance holding up?

To shreds, you say?

Pretty sure that's still firmly in place 🤷

Less callous? Jesse, are you unaware of which political ideology you've given your fealty to?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

I mean, this tracks. Anything that hurts others is good. Anything that hurts them, their friends or family is bad. That's it.

Prioritizing veterans is one of the many benefits of DEI policies. What the fuck is this moron going on about.

Lol prioritize the hiring for specific classes of people, what a new novel idea.

What if we found a way to successfully implement this on a national level?

I bet we could even eventually make an acronym for it.

Who the fuck is watching this dude and still has the ability to take him seriously?

It's brain rot all the way down.

[–] Omgpwnies@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It's not even prioritizing hiring these people, it's mostly removing roadblocks and promoting policies that ensure everyone is treated fairly.

Jesse is far to dumb to learn anything from this.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago

This seems contradictory until you realize that dude is just a fascist scumbag.

To quote the great Maynard James Keenan:

🎵 Is this what you wanted?

Is this what you had in mind?

Is this what you wanted?

'Cause this, this is what you're getting

I hope, I hope, I hope you choke 🎵
