I reset the apps storage. This resolved the issue but sadly I wasn't able to reproduce the greyscreen bug.
Enabling "load all comments" in the post settings sometimes caused issues, but the behaviour is flaky. I'll post more details if I manage to gather more information.

I had the same problem a couple of updates ago and had to reinstall. It thankfully hasn't come back
Reinstalling didn't fix it, because my Android system kept the config data. Resetting the apps storage and with it my settings fixed the issue.
