It's cool. I've been on mastodon before this, so I get the whole "looking around to find communities" thing. Lemmy seems to make it easier to find popular communities than Masto though, so that's nice.

But... After reddit fell, I took it as a sign that I need to get off the social media wagon wheel. I was spending almost every waking minute on reddit or twitching to get on it. I hope it doesn't get like that with Lemmy, though I fully expect it to.

so so - I like that I can post from Mastodon. It feels incomplete yet intriguing.

For some reason the notification bell icon is only appearing after I check my inbox and see the message. Then I hit the bell and it tells me there's nothing new because I already read it. If it's working for you maybe it'll just sort itself out. I'm using the Connect app, by the way.

Just happy to be here.

6 of my most lurked subreddits have no equivalent over here. I have no hope as they are niche and it will take a lot of momentum for them to migrate over here

So far the only complaints I have is the lack of population (my teams communities are so small there is no real conversation going on), and some delays in these days. But tbh, both are to be expected, so I dont mind them too much. Really rooting for the instances admins ramping up the servers, and for people to migrate here.

Functionality wise, I was a bit confused by the federatization concept but it is pretty similar to reddit so except for creating the account it is pretty good!

Too much tankie bullshit.

Second biggest server is straight up Chinese Communist Party propaganda.

I like it, definitely more politically aligned than reddit, but I still find it a bit empty. On one hand, I like that my comments don’t drown in a sea of similar comments, on the other there is rarely a lively discussion. So: mostly good, still hoping for a bit of growth
