That's some interesting style! It wouldn't work for me, but I like that it's pretty dandy. I'm not sure I like the jackets. I don't like useless ornamentation in clothes much, as in I prefer the function to remain. For example, I love how with a typical (tweed, particularly a hunting) jacket you can still have the collar and lapels popped and buttoned so it's still a proper full coverage jacket. In this case, it bugs me that the jackets can't meet ... yet have double-breast buttons. I suppose that's kind of a Spanish style though, isn't it? Like matadors wear little crop-top, open front jackets, don't they? Anyone know the background of this style?

I won't claim to know the full history of this style of jackets that don't close but have decorative buttons -- But it is the style for white-tie tailcoats as well. As I understand it they are indirectly descended from horse-riding fashion.

As for the amount of ornamentation -- These are going for like, a ~goth~ style. In the designer's site you can see they also do like, more traditional style suits.
