Besides the obvious difference in users, I'm finding it remarkably similar to Reddit. Time will tell if it catches on in popularity.
redwhat ?
I was ready to leave Reddit last week, when my third party app stop working... but it doesn't stop and now, everytime i open Joey for Reddit i kinda wish it don't work anymore, cause i think why should i leave, if it works?
I have a small userscript/style tweak to remove all input fields from reddit, so I'm still allowing myself to browse reddit in read-only mode on desktop, with no mobile access.
It's a gentle way to wean myself off. I'm still waiting for my GDPR data dump anyway, so I need to check reddit fairly regularly to be able to grab it when/if it arrives.
I'm using Reddit about 60% less than before.
Yes. Mostly because I got permabanned from Reddit about a year ago for making offensive jokes and trying to appeal a sub ban by using an alt account. Given what's happening now on Reddit, it seems I didn't lose much.
However, the fact that this site clearly states on its rules that it's not a free speech space means that it will never ever be as good as Reddit on its early years.
Edited my comments in reddit and left. And haven't logged back in since.
I like how you can feel the interactions and communities growing here.
Who's Lenny. Kidding. Yes, I replaced Reddit at the beginning of June, when that little fucktard, u/spez, confirmed that he's not bending on the policy. Slowly nuked my account over the course of that month. ~~Lenny~~ Lemmy (friggin autocorrect hahaha what irony) is my new best friend.
Havenβt gone back to Reddit since Apollo shut down. Given the way itβs now run I say βgood riddanceβ. Hopped onto Lemmy since the Memmy app launched on iOS, and so far so good. I first joined Reddit in 2008, and Lenny has similar vibes now as Reddit did back then.
Yes, between here and mastodon I got enough content
I left Reddit during the blackout and havenβt looked back. I check in my sub once in a while to see what the new mod has done to it. Seems like he re-opened it. He is the first one that told me about the blackout lol, Trader!
Yes, first week was kinda rough with lack of content, but itβs quickly getting better.
Havenβt logged into Reddit since they announced the API changes.
I made an account a few days ago. Iβm actually surprised at how similar the content is to the front page of reddit (albeit much less visibility). I think Lemmy does have what it takes to take over.
Already have π
Yes
I doomscroll only here, but I still refer (read only) to some niche communities for historical information on reddit. Itβs still too small here for the small niches to have an active community. Trying to post more here too
Trying to completely leave reddit as of a few days ago when boost finally stopped working. I haven't been back so far and this is my primary site now and also following discuit in hopes it grows bigger than it currently is.
I know I will use reddit for work when I have technical questions but that's it.
gock.........
I haven't deleted anything on reddit, but I have not been back there since the protests began. The Fediverse is my new home and I am happy to be here.
I'm slowly transitioning over to Lemmy with the goal of eventually ditching Reddit.
Yep. This place is great.
trying to
I was fairly new to Reddit but really liked the way it was organized by topic. It was easy for me to delete my few posts and then delete my account. So I'm now rooting for Lemmy and seeing nice progress. Also looked at Threads and was amazed how well it worked right out of the gate. It shows what a multi million dollar budget can accomplish.
Yes I deleted my Reddit account a week before Apollo was dead.
Yes, I still have to get some info from my reddit account before deleting everything, but soon.
Yes. Just hoping lots of communities get as popular as asklemmy and showerthoughts. Sad looking up some Reddit equivalents and seeing 2 subscribers and no posts.
I abandoned Reddit entirely when Sync shut down. Beehaw and Lemmy at large seem like a (mostly) great place and I'm here to stay.
100%. Lemmy is my new drug.
Yes. I haven't used reddit since I signed up for Lemmy.
No, because the niche subs aren't alive here.
i still have a million things 'saved' on reddit i need to check out and there's that one niche sub i lurk that doesn't seem to want to migrate but other than that yeah this is it for me. lemm.ee + wefwef
I think I accidentally opened reddit once, trying to get an answer from a google search. I'm done with Reddit.
Yes, not sticking around while it slowly becomes a worse and worse user experience
I don't have any accounts in reddit anymore. I only browse reddit maybe for 5 mins a day now. I could block reddit without barely noticing at this time
I uninstalled Reddit when Infinity died
I only ever go there to check the front page/news now. Lemmy is growing fast, but being decentralized, at the moment it's still easier to catch up on politics and world news using reddit.
Would be easiers by subscribing to theses communities until they merge in one. You will see more subjects that interest you.
Until the merge, I have different accounts with different orientations.
Actually, if u don't do that, Lemmy is really "hazardous".
I browse through brave browser out of spite now hit after downloading Memmy Iβve found myself on Lemmy way more than Reddit. Also feel I contribute a lot more to conversations than I did on Reddit.
Already have.
Working on it for sure.
I am but I'm not sure why everyone complaint of ads but still using Reddit doesn't just use Reddit Revancec?
I prefer Squiggy
Yes. This exactly.
My third eldest, Larissa, she was talking about this just last week. She is very smart, Iβll give her that, because she was the first in the family to go to university. And she passed with distinctions. So weβre all quite proud of her.
