I think that this presents an exciting opportunity for your players to accidentally alert a powerful enemy to your presence by accidentally teleporting their crystal ball directly into its line of sight. Could be a fun hook for the campaign!

So how exactly are they exploring the entire contents of a hex through teleportation? A great tool for scouting, but it seems like they would certainly miss a lot...

I'm curious as to their procedure. Was it:

  1. Use crystal ball to see a safe location
  2. Jump to that location
  3. Rinse and repeat?

Add in Step 1.5 use detect spells and locate spells - maybe try some esp
