They roll almost as nicely as the aulde skhoole d20s numbered twice, by my testing seem to be more than sufficiently random, and are pretty good conversation pieces when you pull them out in a room of people who've never seen them before.

Any risk of landing on a blank face?

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 5 points 11 months ago

I've never seen it. I'm sure it can happen in theory, but it doesn't seem to be an issue in practice.

I would love to see a panning video of these dice. I cannot grasp the shape for some reason.

Ever order a burger to go? Imagine this shape but closer to cube proportions.

This comment paired with OPs video really nailed it in. Thanks!

I saw both comments at the same time, but I think yours would have been enough.

It's got six square faces in a hexagonal array, twice. As in, looking top-down is a hexagon, and looking straight at the side is a hexagon.

Apologies in advance for the quality. I suck at videography even more than I suck at photography.

Thanks, that's perfect!

Where did these come from? Did you make them yourself or are they available for public purchase?

[–] ZDL@ttrpg.network 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I got them from Taobao. I can't imagine that they're only available in China, though.

I'll do some research and see what I can find. I haven't found anything exactly like this yet, but I've found similar style D10 on Etsy though, so I'm sure I'll find them if I keep digging

In style they're very similar to ancient Chinese d18s, so ... it could be that these are actually Chinese in origin.

They're irregular and spindown, are they fair?
