Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

Is this the consensus in the usa already? Just curious cause I'm not from there, and everywhere I look online this is the consensus (in my bubble at least).
Edit: I know the media doesn't admit stuff like this, but I mean consensus in like the general feeling of talking to people in real life about this war.
Pretty much everyone I know (bar for those few still religiously devoted to doing their best impression of a boot polish sommelier) seems to be on the same page about how nearly everything Trump does is a distraction from the files, and that’s been the consensus for months now, even before the Iran War.
That said, I run in very different circles than those who make up the loyal core of MAGA, and I’ve learned to never doubt my countrymen’s ability to achieve new and rarified heights of stupidity and cognitive dissonance. I also never felt like most people even tolerated the idea of Donald Trump, and that led to an extremely unpleasant surprise in the wake of the 2024 election, so my social circle probably isn’t a particularly representative cross-section.
He's not wrong.
Hate it when I agree with Joe
Get ready for the next distraction
Its never too late to be ~~captain~~ err cadet private obvious.
Washington regime going on raid and falling on their face.
Say it ain’t so Joe! /s
Did it work?
Nope
Well good then.
oh, I mean, it dipped way down in the news for a few cycles, but people were still talking about it, and now it's popped back into the news, especially since former AG Pam Bondi has, since getting fired, has decided that she can now ignore her Congressional subpoena to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding her fuckup with the release of the Epstein files.
This is very transparently evasion and contempt of congress (a crime). How congress decides to proceed from here is anyone's guess.
You don’t say
Who TF is Joe Rogan?
Former MMA fighter turned most popular podcaster in the country, turned maga tool. He used to be a bernie supporter I hear. Had him on his show just last year. But also pretended to believe the president even when he did that. It's all in bad faith, he's a cynical piece of shit.
shocked shocked i tell you
And in other breaking news: cold water brrr, hot water ouch.
Agreed
He might be a human sack of human shit but i do wish people would get back to talking about the epstein files. We cant just let these dick heads get away with it.
