Do Asian women age like that, or is it maybe that there was a huge increase in childhood nutrition, medical care, personal care, and personal wealth hitting Asia starting several decades ago and the very old are those who survived the times before and the younger Asians have benefitted in ways that manifest in their personal appearance? (And also old ladies all over the world tend to shrink a bit)
I'm sure some of it is nutrition and increases in quality of life. However that doesn't explain the cultural phenomena of all the old ladies deciding on getting perms, dressing in fancy walking clothes, and getting big floppy hats.
They are still pretty spry though. In Korea some of the old Buddhist temples are on really steep mountains. Some to the point where you have to use ropes to help you climb a "staircase" cut into the side of a cliff. During this I got passed up by a bunch of halmeoni that were taking the rock face like a bunch of goats. I know at 95 my granny still walked a couple miles a day and was able to put both of her palms on the floor when stretching.
Asia has a population of billions and includes all kinds of ethnicities, diets, beauty standards, etc. Trying to represent that in one image isn't going to work. Even within east asia, this isn't anywhere near universal.
Is this 2008?
This is pretty racist and reduces asian heritage to basically light skinned han chinese descent and asia is a mass of different peoples, skin colors, etc.
Not to mention being able to afford skincare and staying in doors to avoid sun damage, etc.
I think it would have been a lot more accurate to label it "East Asian". However, that's not really as racist as claiming all light skinned Asians are descendants of Han Chinese.
